I just tested this out on various speeds, including the heat, and it works just fine and heats up pretty darn quick as well!! The overall size of the ceramic surface is approx 7" x 6" and the overall size of the entire unit is 8" across, 9" deep and 4.25 tall with a weight of 6 lb 7 oz. I just picked up 20+ pieces of lab equipment that was decommissioned from a local hospital. This was equipment that was replaced with updated equipment thanks in part to a large grant.
